CHARLES STREET, MAYFAIR
I created this painting using the exact soot wash product (Carbonold) that was used for the building.

GRAFTON STREET, MAYFAIR
I created this painting using the exact soot wash product (Carbonold) that was used for the building.
I am working on a larger painting of the same property which should be finished in early 2024.

Soot Wash ('Carbonold' by Dyebrick) being applied to the building in 2019

The Landmark Trust Cloth Fair

I stayed at this lovely Landmark Trust property in Cloth Fair for a few days. It was only a couple of doors down from the oldest house in the City of London. I was able to sit in the churchyard opposite and do my sketching and drawing of 41-42 Cloth Fair. I had the pleasure of working on this property over 20 years ago, and I will be using the same pigment solutions that were applied to the building for my watercolour painting.

The images above show me applying the natural earth-based pigment solutions and mineral fixatives to the third floor level back in 1999.

Queen Elizabeth mural on brick

This is a painting of the old Saffron Walden Hospital which became the offices for Uttlesford District Council.

I worked on this lovely Grade II listed building back in 1990. I had to colour some brick repairs and a lot of mortar joints!
